Why do you download its new versions? Don't you know that the advantages of the new updates of WinRAR are the multithreating technology, so go to buy another PC with a multicore processor so it will work even better.

The program is better with version 5 and the RAR5 format compresses better and faster. RAR5 uses more RAM if the directory size is big, so old computers beware. Default directory size is OK for old PCs.
